What You Should Know About Exercising Your Older Miniature
Pinscher
Min Pins retain their lovable,
fun nature well into their old age. We just
have to be a little more careful with her. ·
She’ll get tired more easily, so
avoid especially long walks, unless you carry her part of the way ·
If your Min Pin likes getting onto
your bed and you allow him to do this, make it easier for him by giving him a
step. For example, your bed might be close to a cushioned bay window, which
your dog can jump onto that prevents him from having to jump so high to get
onto your bed. ·
Don’t drop her from heights. Her
joints and bones have become more fragile as the years have gone by. This
includes minimizing the height of places she might jump from, and padding her
landing surfaces (e.g., not letting her skid on a hardwood floor when she
lunges off your couch to run to the kitchen for a snack).
